Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album is a return to a classic sextet structure, and an even more consistent and powerful effort with a harder edge. Its more punk-rock sound was indicative of the maturation of group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's improved virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper and less akin to earlier efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live concert which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released a new studio album a few months after, and went on a tour around the world to help promote it.
